Knife Opinel No. 8 is one of the representatives of the classic Opinel knives, the design of which has not changed much over a hundred years. However, new technologies for production have given a tangible result, improving the quality, reliability and durability of the product. So, with external similarities, new and old samples are, in fact, different models. The design used in Opinel No. 8 was created by Joseph Opinel himself (the founder of the company), and his family continued the work, year after year, improving existing knives, bringing them to perfection and designing new ones.
The Opinel No. 8 knife is a prime example of the combination of classic design and new production technologies. The blade of the Opinel No. 8 knife is made of Sandvic 12C2 stainless steel and has undergone a special heat treatment, which ensures the hardness of the material at the level of 57-58 HRC.
Knife Opinel No. 8 is presented in three versions, which differ only in the material for the manufacture of the handle. In our store there are the following versions of the knife: with a handle made of: oak, walnut and olive. In any case, it has a standard shape, slightly extended at the end, and fits comfortably in the palm of your hand.
The Opinel No. 8 knife is equipped with a standard Opinel ”virobloc” lock, which ensures safe use and storage in almost any conditions.
