The Opinel No. 15 model belongs to the category of fillet knives. This largely determines its shape. The blade of the knife is rather thin and narrow, with a long pointed tip. This geometry is great for separating the meat from the bone or cutting it into pieces. At the same time, it is not recommended to use Opinel No. 15 for materials that are too hard, as its flexible blade may break.

The model Opinel No. 15 uses stainless steel. This is Swedish steel, which, along with excellent corrosion resistance, also has high hardness (about 58 HRC). Such knives remain sharp for a long time, and you can even wash them in the dishwasher.

The blade length of Opinel No. 15 is 150 mm. Together with the handle, the size of the knife reaches 330 mm. However, this is not a problem at all, because this model is foldable and can be very compact during transportation. The blade is sharpened in the usual way - smoothly, which makes it universal.

For the handle of this knife, the manufacturers decided to use the wood of the bubinga tree. Wood is traditionally considered one of the best materials for classic style models. And the attractive appearance of this particular breed makes the knife even more noticeable among the rest. The handle narrowed towards the end with a lowered tail allows you to comfortably hold Opinel No. 15 in your hand.

Between the handle and the blade is another metal part that looks like a swivel sleeve. This is a Viroblock lock, which is able to keep the blade both open and retracted inside the handle. Its use makes working with a knife as safe as possible, and the lock itself is reliable and very durable.
