Opinel folding knives are rightfully considered classics among similar blades, because they have more than a century of history, reliable construction and a “strict” design that has not changed much over the entire production period. That is why Opinel brand knives are great as a gift. Especially models that have an unusual design, such as Opinel No. 8 Chaperon.
This model has a design familiar to Opinel folding knives and does not have any additional tools or specific details. However, Opinel No. 8 Chaperon is highly valued by many collectors for its extraordinary handle. It is made of African wood and decorated according to Bruno Chaperon's patented “sinusoidal” processing technology. Thanks to this processing, each knife has a unique pattern. This fact allows us to say that all knives of this model are individual and unique in their own way.
Otherwise, Opinel No. 8 Chaperon have a similar design with samples from the classic line. The blade is also made of Sandvik 12C27 high-strength steel and has a hardness of about 57-58 HRC.
Opinel No. 8 Chaperon is equipped with a branded virobloc lock. This lock has been used in Opinel folding knives for more than 50 years and during this time has managed to establish itself as an extremely durable device that provides reliable fixation of the blade in one of two positions.
The Opinel No. 8 Chaperon knife comes with an original wooden case that can act as a small stand.
